According to FootballTransfers on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Juventus are struggling to cope without Yildiz, who attracted interest from Arsenal during the summer transfer window. However, the Serie A club refused to entertain the possibility of selling the talented attacker despite interest from Mikel Arteta’s team.
The 20-year-old is currently recovering from a broken foot, leaving Juventus without one of their most important attacking options. His absence has coincided with a difficult period for Luciano Spalletti’s side, who have struggled to produce the results expected of them this season.
Juventus currently occupy eighth position in Serie A after collecting just one victory from their previous five league fixtures. Their disappointing run has included defeats against Sassuolo and Atalanta, alongside draws against AC Milan and Cagliari.
Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Filippo Cornacchia has highlighted the influence of Yildiz and midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who is also unavailable because of injury. Cornacchia explained how their absence has created additional problems for Spalletti.
“Indeed, Luciano Spalletti is currently feeling the impact of Locatelli’s injury, as well as that of Yildiz - the squad’s best player and another legacy of the Cherubini era.”
Despite their domestic struggles, Juventus have produced more encouraging performances in European competition. They secured victories against NEC Nijmegen and Celta Vigo in the Europa League, giving them reasons for optimism ahead of their upcoming encounter with Rennes on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have enjoyed an excellent start to their campaign, winning 10 of their opening 11 matches across all competitions. The Gunners strengthened their ambitions after claiming the Premier League title last season and explored several high-profile attacking options during the summer.
Arsenal reportedly considered moves for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, but neither deal materialised. The Athletic also reported that the north London club made an enquiry about Yildiz, only to discover that Juventus were unwilling to sell him at any price.
Juventus’ recent difficulties could further underline Yildiz’s importance and explain Arsenal’s interest in his abilities. However, there is currently no indication that the Italian club have reconsidered their stance on his future.
Arsenal will return to action on Wednesday with a major Champions League showdown against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
