According to a post on his official Instagram account on Wednesday October 28, 2026, Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has shared photos posing with his PFA Beyond the Pitch Award on Instagram, thanking the people behind his charitable work and grassroots football initiatives.

Awoniyi posted the photos on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, after receiving the award at the 2026 Best of Africa Awards in London. He dedicated the recognition to the teams associated with his foundation and the Kwara Kiddies League.

“Life can give you so much, but what truly matters is what you choose to do with what you’ve been given.

“Grateful to receive the PFA Beyond the Pitch Award at the Best of Africa Awards 2026.

“To the whole team @tawoniyifoundation ,@kwarakiddiesleague this is for you!❤️

Let’s keep building ✝️🙏🏿”

In the Instagram photos, Awoniyi posed with the trophy, dressed in traditional Yoruba clothing. Reports about the ceremony said he attended with his wife, Taiwo Jesudun, and his brother, Victor.

The PFA Beyond the Pitch Award recognises contributions made away from football. Awoniyi’s post highlighted the work of the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation and the Kwara Kiddies League, which supports young people through community and grassroots football activities.

By directing his message to the teams behind those initiatives, Awoniyi presented the award as recognition shared with the people working on the projects. His caption also looked ahead, with a call to “keep building.”

Awoniyi has represented Nigeria as a striker and is known internationally for his club career. However, the post put the focus on his community involvement and the people supporting his work beyond the game.

The Best of Africa Awards recognition adds to the public attention around Awoniyi’s off-field efforts. The award title reflects a broader view of a footballer’s contribution, acknowledging work that reaches beyond matches and training.
