Man City Star Offered to Man Utd Again With Decision on January Exit Already Made

According to a report by TeamTalk on Thursday October 29, 2026, Manchester City defender Rayan Ait-Nouri could leave the club during the January transfer window, with Manchester United among the teams offered the chance to sign him.

The 25-year-old Algeria international has struggled to secure regular playing time since joining City from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2025. His situation has become more difficult under manager Enzo Maresca, who has other options ahead of him at left-back.

According to TEAMtalk, intermediaries are already discussing Ait-Nouri's potential departure with several clubs as City work towards resolving his future before the January window opens.

Maresca recently explained that Ait-Nouri faces strong competition from Josko Gvardiol and Nico O'Reilly, both of whom have impressed when available. The manager's comments suggest that the former Wolves defender is not currently his first choice for the position.

Manchester United have previously been offered the opportunity to sign Ait-Nouri, but a deal could not be completed before the summer transfer window closed.

TEAMtalk reports that discussions have resumed, with intermediaries again presenting the defender as a potential option for the Old Trafford club.

United are understood to be among the sides considering the situation, and Ait-Nouri would be open to moving across Manchester if an agreement can be reached.

Such a transfer would be notable given the rivalry between the two clubs. However, his limited opportunities at City could make a move elsewhere a practical decision for his career.

Man city are reportedly prepared to consider a loan deal, provided it includes a clause that could make the transfer permanent after the player reaches an agreed number of appearances.

The report also states that City would seek around £30 million for Ait-Nouri, although the final structure of any agreement remains unclear.

Everton are among the other interested clubs, while teams in Italy, Spain and Germany are also being discussed.

With January approaching, Ait-Nouri's future is expected to attract further attention as City consider their options and potential suitors assess whether they can secure his signature.
