According to a report by Flashscore on Sunday October 25, 2026, Barcelona suffered a 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid in the La Liga El Clásico, with Kylian Mbappé scoring twice to secure victory for the visitors. Raphinha briefly restored parity, but Barcelona's missed chances proved costly.
Real Madrid took the lead in the 41st minute when Mbappé capitalised on a loose ball inside the penalty area. Barcelona created opportunities through Anthony Gordon, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, but Andriy Lunin produced important saves to preserve Madrid's advantage.
Raphinha equalised in the 61st minute after receiving a short pass from Pedri before finishing confidently. However, Mbappé struck again in the 87th minute following Eduardo Camavinga's pass, punishing Barcelona's inability to maintain their defensive concentration.
Five Barcelona players responsible for the defeat
1. Lamine Yamal
Yamal missed a clear opportunity in the 44th minute, shooting narrowly wide from inside the six-yard box. He also missed the target in the 74th and 78th minutes, wasting opportunities to help Barcelona take control.
2. Pau Cubarsí
Cubarsí conceded a tactical foul in the ninth minute as Real Madrid threatened. Although the commentary does not directly blame him for either goal, Barcelona's defence ultimately failed to prevent Mbappé from scoring twice.
3. João Cancelo
Cancelo's dangerous lofted cross was intercepted in the 59th minute, while his earlier corner delivery in the 35th minute was comfortably dealt with by Lunin. Barcelona needed greater effectiveness from their attacking deliveries.
4. Anthony Gordon
Gordon had opportunities to put Barcelona ahead but was denied by Lunin in the seventh, 16th and 35th minutes. His inability to convert those chances contributed to Barcelona's failure to capitalise on their attacking opportunities.
