According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is reportedly impressed with the attitude and professionalism of 19-year-old Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim despite his limited opportunities with the club's senior team.
The young striker has reportedly earned recognition within Barcelona for maintaining a positive attitude, demonstrating commitment during training and remaining ready to contribute whenever the coaching staff requires his services.
Abdelkarim has not featured in Barcelona's recent encounters against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, remaining an unused substitute in both matches. However, his lack of first-team opportunities has reportedly not affected his determination to establish himself at the Spanish club.
Despite receiving considerable attention in Egypt following his participation in the World Cup, the teenager has continued to approach his development with humility. Although described as naturally quiet and shy, he has gradually adapted to life in Barcelona's dressing room and developed a professional relationship with his teammates.
One of the qualities that has reportedly impressed the coaching staff is his willingness to represent Barça Atlètic whenever required. Rather than considering appearances for the reserve side a setback, Abdelkarim has continued to approach those opportunities with seriousness and enthusiasm.
His commitment was recently demonstrated during a match against Utebo on October 17, when he found the back of the net for Barcelona's reserve team. The performance provided another opportunity for the Egyptian youngster to demonstrate his attacking qualities and remind the club of his potential.
Nevertheless, securing a regular place in Flick's first-team plans remains a difficult challenge. Barcelona currently have several established attacking players competing for positions, making the pathway to senior football particularly demanding.
Raphinha has increasingly been deployed in a more advanced attacking role, while Gabriel Jesus provides another option in the centre-forward position. Flick has also experimented with Dani Olmo as a false nine, giving him additional tactical alternatives.
These attacking options mean Abdelkarim must continue working on his development before expecting regular first-team involvement.
For now, the Egyptian forward's priority is to maintain his positive attitude, improve his performances with Barça Atlètic and take advantage of every opportunity presented to him.
Although his progress into the senior squad may take time, Flick's reported appreciation of his professionalism represents an encouraging development for the young striker's future at Barcelona.
