Champions League Table After Real Madrid Won 3-2

Real Madrid secured a dramatic 3-2 win over AEK Athens on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, thanks to Federico Valverde's decisive goal in the 90th minute, according to a report by BBC SPORT.

Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham also scored for the Spanish side, who produced a determined comeback to claim victory in an exciting encounter.

AEK Athens started brightly and opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Aboubakary Koita. After receiving an intelligent pass from Luka Jovic inside the box, the forward calmly curled his shot past Thibaut Courtois to give the hosts an early advantage.

Real Madrid gradually grew into the contest and began putting their opponents under pressure. Bellingham appeared to have equalised in the 28th minute, but a VAR review ruled out his effort for offside. The England international did not have to wait long to get on the scoresheet, though, as he levelled the match four minutes later with a clever backheel finish following an assist from Marc Cucurella.

The two teams continued to create opportunities in search of another goal, but neither side managed to find the breakthrough before the referee brought the first half to an end with the score tied at 1-1.

After the restart, Real Madrid continued to attack, while Courtois made a crucial save to prevent AEK Athens from extending their lead. Nevertheless, the hosts moved ahead again in the 75th minute when Stavro Pilo finished off a superb pass from Koita.

Real Madrid responded quickly, equalising just three minutes later through Mbappe. The Frenchman collected a well-placed pass from Denzel Dumfries inside the penalty area before producing a composed close-range finish to make it 2-2.

The visitors pressed forward in the closing stages as they searched for a winner. Mbappe came close to putting Real Madrid ahead in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper denied his attempt before the ball rebounded off the crossbar.

Real Madrid eventually found the decisive goal in the 90th minute when Valverde struck a powerful effort into the bottom-right corner. The midfielder connected with a pass from Brahim Diaz before beating the goalkeeper to complete the comeback.

The late goal secured a memorable 3-2 victory for Real Madrid, who showed resilience to overcome AEK Athens and take all three points.
