Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is set to undergo surgery after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee during the French club’s 4-2 victory over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

According to a report by Punch on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, PSG confirmed the injury following medical examinations and disclosed that the Georgian international would undergo surgery in the coming days.

Kvaratskhelia sustained the injury during Tuesday’s encounter at the Parc des Princes in Paris. The 25-year-old was seen clutching his right knee after going down on the pitch and was unable to put weight on the affected leg before medical staff helped him off.

The injury represents a major setback for PSG as they seek to maintain their impressive start to the Champions League campaign. Kvaratskhelia has been an important figure in the team’s attacking setup, and his absence could limit manager Luis Enrique’s options in the coming months.

The French champions also confirmed that forward Ousmane Dembélé and captain Marquinhos sustained injuries during the same match.
