VIDEO: 3-Year-Old Removed by Police from Kids Match after Parents' Complaint of Being Too Good

According to a report by The Nation Nigeria on Monday, October 26, 2026, a three-year-old boy has gone viral on social media after police officers were called to a youth football match in Winter Park, Florida, following a dispute involving his family and officials of a recreational sports league.

The incident, which occurred during an i9 Sports youth soccer match, has sparked widespread debate about children's sports, parental behaviour and how leagues should handle differences in players' abilities.

The boy, identified as Nevada by his family, was reportedly playing against children around five years old when the confrontation occurred.

Videos shared online show the youngster displaying impressive football skills, dribbling past opponents, maintaining possession of the ball and scoring several goals during the match.

According to his family, complaints from parents of opposing players about the youngster's dominance contributed to the decision to remove him and his family from the playing venue.

However, authorities have disputed some of the claims circulating online about why police became involved, saying officers were contacted over a disturbance between league officials and the child's parents.

The incident has since attracted significant attention, with footage of the match and the subsequent interaction with police spreading across social media platforms.

In videos shared by the family, Nevada can be seen controlling the ball and moving past other children during the game.

His father expressed frustration over the incident, alleging that some parents were unhappy because their children struggled to dispossess the three-year-old.

“They called the police on a three-year-old because he's too good,” the father said in the circulating footage, explaining that his son had kept possession of the ball for extended periods.

The family also claimed that Nevada had repeatedly performed well in previous matches, prompting complaints from parents who felt his playing style made the games unfair for the other children.

According to the parents, the youngster had been competing against children approximately two years older than him.

His mother was also seen questioning the situation while speaking with officers at the venue, insisting that her son was simply playing football.

The family alleged that league officials decided Nevada could no longer participate in the programme following complaints about his performances.

They further claimed that they were subsequently escorted away from the field and received a refund for his registration in the autumn 2026 season.

The family's account has fuelled online criticism from viewers who questioned why a dispute involving a preschool-aged child at a recreational football match escalated to police involvement.

Despite claims circulating online that police were called because the youngster was allegedly too good at football, the Winter Park Police Department provided a different explanation.

In a statement reported by News 6, the department said a soccer league official contacted police over a disturbance involving league representatives and the player's parents.

According to the police, the league requested assistance communicating its decision that the family should leave the venue.

The department said the family was cooperative when officers arrived and confirmed that the matter was civil rather than criminal.

Police also stated that nobody was arrested, issued a trespass notice or forcibly removed from the park.

The statement added that officers' body-worn camera footage supported their account of the incident.

The police clarification is significant because it challenges some of the claims accompanying the viral video, particularly the assertion that officers were called specifically because Nevada was outperforming the other children.

While the family has linked the dispute to complaints about the youngster's football skills, the police account identifies a disagreement between the parents and league officials as the reason for their involvement.

The i9 Sports Maitland/Winter Park programme also acknowledged the controversy after the video attracted widespread attention.

In a statement to News 6, the organisation said it was aware of concerns being shared about an incident involving one of its local programmes.

The league said it took the concerns seriously and emphasised the importance of treating every child and family respectfully.

“We are working to understand the circumstances and will not speculate or share unverified information,” the organisation said.
