Chelsea could have an opportunity to sign Paris Saint-Germain youngster Senny Mayulu if the French club are unable to guarantee him a regular place in their first team, despite his recent improvement in performances.
According to a report by FootballTransfers on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the 20-year-old midfielder has bounced back from a difficult start to the season and is gradually proving his quality at the highest level of European football.
Mayulu's future at the Parc des Princes became uncertain earlier this year when he entered the final year of his contract. Negotiations over an extension reportedly became complicated after disagreements emerged between the club and the player's representatives.
PSG allegedly accused the youngster of demanding an unreasonable salary, while his representatives responded by criticising the club for throwing him "under the bus."
The disagreement was eventually resolved when Mayulu signed a new contract that will keep him at the French champions until 2031. However, the new agreement did not immediately translate into more playing opportunities, as he struggled to secure regular minutes during the opening months of the 2026/27 campaign.
By the middle of October, the France youth international had accumulated just 67 minutes of playing time, raising questions about his role in manager Luis Enrique's plans.
Chelsea subsequently emerged as a possible destination for the midfielder after analytics company SciSports identified Stamford Bridge as one of the clubs that could provide a suitable environment for his development, particularly if he is deployed in a central midfield position.
The Premier League side could view Mayulu as a potential long-term replacement for Enzo Fernandez, whose future at Chelsea has attracted considerable attention in recent months.
However, the youngster's situation at PSG has improved significantly following a series of impressive performances. He scored against Lyon on October 26 before producing another outstanding display against Le Havre four days later, contributing a goal and an assist while completing the entire 90 minutes.
Mayulu continued his impressive run in Tuesday's Champions League encounter against Villarreal, finding the net during PSG's dominant first-half performance.
His recent displays have also attracted positive reviews from the French media, with L'Equipe describing his performance as a "complete performance" and highlighting his increasing influence within the team.
Another interesting development has been Luis Enrique's decision to use the youngster in more advanced attacking positions. Rather than restricting him to midfield duties, the PSG manager has recently experimented with deploying him as a false nine.
Mayulu's Estimated Transfer Value currently stands at €48.3 million, while FootballTransfers places his market valuation between €43.5 million and €53.1 million.
Although his improved performances could make a January departure less likely, Chelsea are expected to keep monitoring his progress as they continue assessing potential additions to their midfield.
The Blues could revisit their interest if Mayulu's opportunities at PSG become limited again, particularly if the French champions are unable to provide the youngster with the regular first-team football he desires.
