According to a report by the London Evening Standard on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Arsenal's future signing Andria Bartishvili has reportedly sustained an ankle injury while featuring for Georgian club Iberia 1999.
The 17-year-old forward was seen receiving assistance from medical personnel after struggling to continue during the match. The incident has raised concerns about his fitness as he prepares for a planned move to north London in July 2027.
Footage circulating on social media shows Bartishvili being helped off the pitch by medical staff while wearing Iberia 1999's red kit. However, neither Arsenal nor his current club has issued an official statement confirming the nature or severity of the injury.
Bartishvili is currently on loan at Iberia 1999 from Kolkheti 1913. Arsenal announced in September that they had reached a pre-contract agreement to sign the youngster, with the transfer expected to be completed in July 2027, subject to regulatory requirements, when he turns 18.
The Georgian attacker is regarded as a versatile forward capable of playing on either wing or in the attacking midfield position. He developed through the Dinamo Tbilisi academy before making progress into senior football.
His performances during his breakthrough campaign earned him recognition as the best under-17 player in the Erovnuli Liga. He also registered his first professional goal for Iberia earlier this year, further strengthening his reputation as one of Georgia's promising young attacking talents.
At international level, Bartishvili has represented Georgia across several youth categories, including the under-21 team. He has also gained experience in European competitions through Iberia's qualifying matches and Conference League campaign this season.
Arsenal's recruitment department, including Maurizio Micheli, reportedly played an important role in securing his signature despite interest from other clubs. His style of play has also attracted comparisons with fellow Georgian international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The reported ankle injury could affect Bartishvili's immediate development and limit his opportunities to gain further competitive experience before arriving in England.
Arsenal supporters will now await an official update from the player's club regarding his condition, the severity of the injury and his expected recovery period.
