According to a report by Fabrizio romano on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Former Paris Saint-Germain and Fulham goalkeeper Sergio Rico and his family have reportedly been victims of a frightening armed robbery at their home near Seville, Spain, with several masked attackers allegedly threatening members of the household before escaping with valuables.
According to reports, five masked men forced their way into the property through the front door while Rico was having dinner with his family. The incident reportedly turned violent as the intruders restrained the goalkeeper and threatened his wife, Alba Silva, in front of their two young children, including their three-month-old baby.
The attackers were also alleged to have threatened Rico's mother-in-law with a firearm while searching the house for valuables. The robbers reportedly escaped with cash, jewellery and designer handbags before police could apprehend them.
Rico has reportedly confirmed the violent nature of the incident while denying claims that he was seriously beaten during the robbery. The goalkeeper and his family are said to have been left shaken by the ordeal, which has raised concerns about their safety.
Silva later expressed her distress over the incident, explaining that she was still in shock but was grateful that her family had survived the frightening experience.
In her message, she wrote: “I'm still in shock after what happened. I am without words. But the only really important thing is that, thanks to God, our family is safe.”
Her statement highlighted the emotional impact of the robbery, particularly given the presence of the couple's young children during the incident.
Rico, who previously played for PSG and Fulham, has also represented Spain at international level. His career has included spells in European football, making him a familiar name among supporters.
The reported robbery has drawn attention to the vulnerability of families during violent home invasions, especially when armed criminals are involved. The alleged threats against Rico's relatives have made the incident particularly disturbing.
Police are reportedly investigating the case, although no arrests had been reported at the time of writing. Authorities are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the break-in and work to identify those responsible.
For Rico and his family, the immediate priority will be recovering from the frightening experience and regaining a sense of security. While the loss of valuables is significant, Silva's statement made clear that the family's safety remains the most important outcome of the ordeal.
