Arsenal can stop Harry Kane from breaking Champions League record set by Cristiano Ronaldo

According to a report by Football London on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Harry Kane is edging closer to Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for scoring in consecutive UEFA Champions League matches, with Arsenal having the chance to end the Bayern Munich striker’s impressive streak when both teams clash on Wednesday night.

Kane has found the net in nine consecutive Champions League games and will be hoping to extend his run when Bayern face Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Ronaldo remains the record holder, having scored in 11 successive matches in the competition. Another goal against Arsenal would bring Kane closer to the Portuguese forward’s remarkable achievement. The England captain also has a connection to the North London club, having represented Arsenal as a youngster.

The Bayern striker has established himself as a player who consistently delivers on major occasions, with his performances in Germany further cementing his status as one of Europe’s most prolific goalscorers.

Kane has scored 15 goals in 22 appearances against Arsenal, highlighting the danger he poses to the Gunners ahead of their European showdown.

His extraordinary goalscoring form continued throughout the 2025-26 season, when he netted 73 goals for club and country. The only player to record a higher total in a single campaign this century was Lionel Messi, who scored 82 goals during the 2011-12 season.

Kane has also overtaken Messi’s record for the most Champions League goals scored after turning 30. While the Argentine finished with 35 goals in that category, Kane has already reached 36.

Overall, the Bayern Munich forward has scored 57 Champions League goals, placing him joint-eighth on the competition’s all-time scoring chart alongside former Bayern teammate Thomas Muller.

Kane also set a new benchmark for English players by scoring 14 goals in a single Champions League campaign during the 2025-26 season, the highest tally ever recorded by an English player in one edition of the tournament.

Beyond his goalscoring contributions, Kane has also earned praise for his influence within the Bayern squad. His teammate Serge Gnabry has commended his mentality and the positive impact he brings to the team.
