According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday October 27, 2026, Barcelona are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro, but face a difficult task in convincing the Premier League club to part ways with the Spain international.
According to reports, Porro is among the defenders being monitored by Barcelona as head coach Hansi Flick considers options to strengthen the right side of his defence.
Although Eric Garcia has provided an alternative after adapting to the right-back position, Barcelona continue to assess the transfer market for a specialist in the role.
Porro has attracted attention because of his attacking qualities and experience, making him an appealing option for the Catalan giants. His understanding with Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal from their time together with the Spanish national team could also be an advantage.
However, Tottenham’s position presents a major obstacle to any potential deal. Porro has a contract with the London club until 2031, with an option to extend it by another year, giving Spurs considerable control over his future.
Tottenham are reportedly unwilling to allow the defender to leave, particularly because of his importance to the team and his relationship with head coach Roberto De Zerbi.
Porro is considered one of the senior figures in the dressing room and has remained supportive of the manager during a difficult period for the club.
Tottenham’s recent improvement in results could further strengthen their determination to retain the defender as they seek greater stability.
Barcelona’s situation could become more complicated if Jules Kounde leaves, potentially increasing the need for defensive reinforcements.
Nevertheless, securing Porro’s signature would likely require Barcelona to overcome Tottenham’s resistance and negotiate a deal that satisfies the Premier League side.
For now, the Spanish international remains a player of interest to Barcelona, but a transfer is far from straightforward.
