According to a report by BBC Sport on Friday, October 23, 2026, Torino secured a vital 3-2 victory over Monza in their Serie A encounter at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
Torino started the match with the intention of taking control, creating several opportunities before Kian Fitz-Jim opened the scoring in the 39th minute. The midfielder finished with his left foot after Giovanni Simeone provided the assist, giving the hosts an important advantage following a defensive mistake by Monza.
Monza tried to respond before the break and had a potential penalty incident checked by VAR, but the officials decided against awarding a spot kick to Torino. The visitors returned from the interval with renewed energy and found an equaliser in the 47th minute when Gustavo Varela took advantage of a defensive error by Pietro Comuzzo to make it 1-1.
The equaliser increased the pressure on Torino, but the hosts showed their determination to regain the lead as Rafik Belghali produced a brilliant long-range finish in the 61st minute. Gvidas Gineitis supplied the assist, with Belghali's effort giving Torino the advantage once again.
Torino continued to push forward and were rewarded in the 72nd minute when Nikola Vlašić found the back of the net with a right-footed finish, putting his side two goals ahead and giving them a stronger position heading into the closing stages.
Monza refused to give up and continued searching for another goal, eventually reducing the deficit in the 94th minute when Nathan Patterson accidentally turned the ball into his own net. However, Torino managed to protect their lead until the referee brought the match to an end.
The victory lifted Torino to seventh place in the Serie A table with 13 points, while Monza dropped to 14th position with seven points after suffering a narrow defeat away from home.
