According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 18, 2026, Arsenal secured a hard-earned 1-0 victory in their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
The Gunners came into the match hoping to continue their strong run in the league, but they faced a Forest side that made things difficult for them throughout the game, especially in the first half, as the home team worked hard to limit Arsenal's chances despite having less possession.
Arsenal controlled much of the game and enjoyed 74 per cent of the ball by the final whistle, while Nottingham Forest managed just 26 per cent, although the home side still tried to threaten whenever they had the opportunity to move forward.
Despite their dominance, Arsenal struggled to find a breakthrough for much of the encounter, with several efforts failing to trouble Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels, while the hosts also defended well to keep the visitors away from a clear path to goal.
However, the visitors finally got the goal they needed in the 80th minute when Madueke found the back of the net with a right-footed effort that took a deflection on its way past Sels. Declan Rice provided the assist, and the goal proved enough to separate both teams.
Forest tried to respond during the closing stages, but Arsenal remained organised at the back and held on until the referee blew the final whistle after five minutes of added time.
The victory gives Arteta's team an important boost in their push for the Premier League title, as Arsenal returned to second position on the table, while Nottingham Forest dropped to 18th place, leaving them inside the relegation zone after failing to secure a point from the encounter.
