According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday October 18, 2026, Venezia manager David Nicola has praised Nigerian striker Akor Adams following his impressive performance in the club's 1-0 victory over Napoli in Serie A on Saturday.

Adams scored the decisive goal as Venezia secured an important victory at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, handing Napoli a disappointing defeat in the Italian top flight.

The Nigerian forward broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half after capitalising on an error by Napoli defender Benoit Badiashile before firing the ball into the net.

His goal proved to be the difference between the two sides, securing Venezia their second victory in Serie A this season.

Following the match, Nicola expressed his satisfaction with Adams' contribution, highlighting the striker's commitment, quality and potential to improve further.

Although the Venezia manager admitted that he preferred not to single out individual players, he was full of praise for the Nigerian international.

“I don’t like to talk about individuals. Adams puts his heart and soul into it, he has some very important qualities, he helps the team,” Nicola was quoted by Pazzidifanta as saying.

The Italian manager added that the striker still has significant room for improvement, suggesting that he believes Adams can develop into an even more influential player for the club.

“Akor has incredible room for improvement,” Nicola said.

The comments will come as encouragement for Adams, who will be eager to build on his match-winning performance and establish himself as a key figure in Venezia's attack.

Scoring against Napoli will also provide a confidence boost for the Nigerian forward as he continues his development in Italian football.

For Venezia, the victory represents an important result as they look to improve their position in the league. Meanwhile, Napoli will be disappointed to have dropped points after conceding a goal following a defensive mistake.

Adams will now turn his attention to Venezia's next Serie A fixture, with Nicola's side scheduled to travel to Genoa on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
