According to reports by the Evening Standard on Tuesday November 3, 2026, Arsenal have secured the signing of highly rated Irish youngster Victor Ozhianvuna, who has officially bid farewell to Shamrock Rovers ahead of his January move to the Emirates Stadium.
The 17-year-old midfielder is expected to join Arsenal's academy ranks after turning 18 in January, following an agreement between the Premier League club and Shamrock Rovers that was first reached in October 2025.
Ozhianvuna is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Irish football, having attracted attention with his impressive performances despite his young age.
The Republic of Ireland Under-17 international has already made 37 senior appearances for Shamrock Rovers, demonstrating his potential and ability to compete at a high level.
He also made history last year by becoming the second-youngest player ever to feature in the UEFA Conference League.
Arsenal's decision to secure his signature reflects their continued efforts to strengthen their youth setup by recruiting promising talents capable of developing into future first-team players.
Ozhianvuna, who has supported Arsenal since childhood, has now confirmed his departure from Shamrock Rovers through an emotional farewell message on social media.
The midfielder spent 11 years at the Irish club, having joined its youth setup at the age of six.
In his farewell statement, he wrote: "After 11 amazing years, I'm saying goodbye to the club where I've made memories that I'll never forget."
He also expressed gratitude to the coaches, teammates, friends, family and supporters who contributed to his development throughout his time at the club.
The youngster further revealed that the final months of his spell at Shamrock Rovers had been difficult because of an injury that prevented him from playing.
He said he was disappointed not to have been available on the pitch but was pleased to end his time at the club by winning the league title and lifting the trophy in front of the supporters.
His departure was also marked by a special presentation involving Shamrock Rovers director of football Ronan Finn and youth coach Tony Cousins.
