According to a report by BBC Sport on Friday, October 16, 2026, Frosinone secured a well-deserved 4-2 victory over Sassuolo in their Serie A match at the Stadio Benito Stirpe.
The home side started the match with confidence and took the lead in the ninth minute when Giacomo Calò found the back of the net with a right-footed effort, giving Frosinone an early advantage as they looked to make the most of playing in front of their supporters.
However, Sassuolo responded quickly, with Domenico Berardi equalising in the 15th minute after receiving an assist from Darryl Bakola, but Frosinone refused to allow the visitors to settle into the game as they continued to create dangerous chances in the final third.
Antonio Raimondo became the main difference between both teams, scoring his first goal in the 26th minute before adding another four minutes later to put Frosinone firmly in control of the contest. His second goal came after a defensive mistake from Sassuolo goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, who failed to deal with the situation properly.
Sassuolo managed to reduce the deficit in the 37th minute through Kristian Thorstvedt, who finished a pass from Sebastiano Esposito to make it 3-2 before the half-time break and give the visitors hope of getting something from the encounter.
The second half saw Frosinone continue to threaten, and Raimondo completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute after reacting quickly to a loose ball inside the box, restoring the hosts' two-goal advantage and making it difficult for Sassuolo to recover.
Despite enjoying more possession, Sassuolo could not find another goal, as Frosinone defended their lead until the final whistle.
With the victory, Frosinone climbed into fourth position on the Serie A table, moving into the top-four zone, while Sassuolo dropped to 11th place following the disappointing defeat.
