Barcelona fan Faces Stadium Ban After Assaulting Real Madrid Midfielder During El Clasico

According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday October 29, 2026, A Barcelona supporter faces a substantial fine and a possible stadium ban after allegedly striking Eduardo Camavinga and other Real Madrid players with a flagpole during El Clasico at Camp Nou.

According to reports, Catalan police have identified the individual and initiated administrative proceedings following a complaint from LaLiga. Barcelona have also cooperated with the investigation, which could result in further disciplinary action against the supporter.

The incident occurred while Real Madrid players celebrated their second goal during the heated encounter. The supporter allegedly used a flagpole to hit Camavinga and his teammates in the face, prompting authorities to investigate the incident.

The Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s police force, have identified the individual and begun proceedings under Spain’s Sports Law. The punishment will depend on how the offence is classified by the relevant authorities.

Under the legislation, serious infringements can attract fines ranging from €3,000 to €60,000. Meanwhile, very serious offences carry financial penalties between €60,001 and €650,000.

However, the report indicates that the incident will be classified as a serious infringement because no damage was caused. Consequently, the supporter could face a fine within the lower statutory range and a potential ban from sporting venues lasting between two and five years.

Barcelona’s cooperation has played an important role in identifying the individual involved. LaLiga acknowledged the club’s security department for assisting the police with their investigation.

The league also revealed that the supporter belongs to a group associated with the Grada 1957 section at Camp Nou. It confirmed that the matter would be referred to Barcelona’s Disciplinary Committee for appropriate action.

The committee is expected to consider possible internal sanctions against the individual, while the administrative proceedings will determine the final punishment under Spanish law.

The incident has raised further concerns about spectator behaviour and stadium security during major football matches. It also adds to the disciplinary issues surrounding the latest El Clasico, which attracted significant attention because of the rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The final sanctions will depend on the outcome of the ongoing proceedings.
