According to a report by Metro on Monday, October 19, 2026, Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha has dismissed speculation about a possible transfer to Arsenal, indicating that discussions over his future at Anfield are progressing positively. The talented winger has suggested that his immediate priority remains developing his game and contributing to Liverpool rather than focusing on rumours surrounding his future.
The 18-year-old has quickly established himself as one of Liverpool’s most promising young talents since making his senior debut. His performances have attracted attention, with his technical ability, attacking confidence and versatility making him an exciting prospect for the club. He has continued to gain experience this season under Andoni Iraola, featuring across different competitions.
Arsenal have reportedly been keeping an eye on Ngumoha as they assess potential attacking reinforcements. The teenager is believed to have attracted admiration from the north London club, although there is no indication that a transfer is imminent.
Speaking about his future after Liverpool's comeback victory over Brentford, Ngumoha explained that his representative was handling discussions concerning his contract. He said: “To be fair, that is all with my agent now. “I think it is all going well. I am not too sure. I just let my football do the talking at the end of the day.
“I enjoy playing, and all of that stuff is in the back of my mind really. I just play for the club, and hopefully I can carry on doing well.”
The young attacker has also demonstrated his adaptability by switching from his preferred left-wing position to the right flank. Changes within Liverpool’s attacking options have provided him with an opportunity to develop different aspects of his game.
Ngumoha welcomed the challenge, explaining: “I am enjoying the challenge and to be able to play off both sides is important,” he said. “I am getting to grips with the right wing now, and I am liking it. It gives me a bit more unpredictability. I have been working hard on the training pitch.”
His development has also benefited from his involvement with England, where he has gained valuable experience alongside established attackers such as Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon.
Despite competition for places, Ngumoha remains determined to contribute whenever opportunities arise. He added: “Whether I start or come off the bench, I have the same mentality,” he said. “It is all about healthy competition and we all just want to make the team win at the end of the day.”
With his Liverpool contract reportedly running until June 2028, the club remain in a strong position to retain the youngster as he continues his development.
