According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday October 25, 2026, Newcastle United defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 in their Premier League encounter, scoring twice after halftime. William Osula and Harvey Barnes secured victory, while Lukas Hornicek made crucial saves to preserve Newcastle’s advantage.
Crystal Palace created early opportunities through Jean-Philippe Mateta and Daichi Kamada but failed to convert. Newcastle threatened through Harvey Barnes and William Osula, although Palace’s defence initially prevented the visitors from scoring.
Newcastle broke the deadlock in the 47th minute when Jacob Murphy delivered a cross for William Osula, who finished into the bottom-right corner. Joe Willock briefly appeared to score before VAR ruled it out.
The visitors quickly regained momentum and doubled their advantage in the 58th minute. Amar Dedic supplied Harvey Barnes inside the penalty area, allowing the winger to finish confidently into the left side of the net.
Crystal Palace attempted to respond through substitutions and increased attacking pressure. Adam Wharton produced a dangerous effort in the 63rd minute, but Hornicek reacted brilliantly to push the ball away and deny the hosts.
Newcastle remained threatening, with Joelinton missing a close-range header and Barnes firing over. Palace continued searching for a breakthrough, but their finishing and Newcastle’s defensive organisation prevented them from reducing the deficit.
Hornicek delivered another important contribution by denying Dario Osorio in the 71st minute. Axel Disasi subsequently headed narrowly wide, while Newcastle introduced fresh players to maintain energy and protect their two-goal advantage.
Palace pushed forward during stoppage time, creating corners and attempting crosses into the penalty area. However, Newcastle defended effectively, cleared dangerous deliveries and prevented their opponents from finding a consolation goal.
