According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday, November 5, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Gavi is determined to continue his career at Camp Nou despite increasing transfer speculation linking him with a possible move to Napoli during the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old Spanish international is reportedly unwilling to consider leaving the Catalan giants and remains focused on securing a more regular role under manager Hansi Flick.
Gavi's limited playing time this season has reportedly attracted interest from several European clubs, with Napoli emerging as one of the potential destinations for the midfielder. Bayern Munich and several Premier League teams are also believed to be keeping an eye on his situation.
However, the Barcelona academy graduate has no intention of seeking an immediate departure and would rather compete for his place in Flick's squad than move elsewhere in search of regular first-team football.
According to SPORT, the midfielder has not taken any steps towards arranging a transfer away from Barcelona. His representative, Ivan de la Peña, has also dismissed suggestions that negotiations have taken place with clubs interested in securing his services.
Addressing the growing rumours surrounding his client's future, De la Peña firmly stated: "I have not negotiated with anyone. Gavi is staying."
The agent's comments have directly contradicted reports suggesting that Napoli could attempt to sign the Barcelona midfielder in January, making it clear that no discussions over a potential transfer are currently taking place.
Despite struggling to secure consistent minutes, Gavi remains convinced that he can still play an important role in Flick's plans. The midfielder reportedly believes that being given more opportunities will help him rediscover his best form and demonstrate why he remains an important member of the squad.
Rather than allowing the competition for places to influence his future, the Spanish international is prepared to continue working hard in training and use his performances to convince Flick that he deserves greater responsibility.
His determination to remain at Barcelona will undoubtedly come as encouraging news to supporters, considering his strong connection to the club and his importance to the team's long-term sporting project.
For now, Gavi remains part of Barcelona's midfield options, although he will need to take advantage of the opportunities available to establish himself as a regular starter under Flick.
With the January transfer window approaching, speculation surrounding his future could intensify if his playing time does not improve. Nevertheless, the midfielder's current priority remains staying at Barcelona and fighting for a more prominent position in the team.
