According to a report by Daily Post Nigeria, on Sunday October 18, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Rodri has identified Paris Saint-Germain as the strongest team in Europe ahead of the clubs’ Champions League meeting in Paris on Tuesday.
His comments set the stage for a demanding test for Barcelona as they prepare to face the reigning European champions away from home.
Rodri spoke to Barcelona’s official media after his side secured an emphatic 5-2 victory over Real Betis in LaLiga. Despite the convincing result, he made clear that the team’s attention had quickly shifted to the upcoming European fixture. Barcelona will need to be focused and disciplined against a PSG side Rodri believes is currently at the top of its game.
“Our full focus is now on Paris Saint-Germain, who may well be the strongest team in Europe at the moment,” he said. “We will go toe-to-toe with them and see exactly where we stand. They will give it everything at home.”
PSG will have the advantage of playing in front of their own supporters, and Rodri expects them to approach the match with full intensity. Barcelona, meanwhile, will view the encounter as an opportunity to measure themselves against one of the continent’s leading sides.
The French club won last season’s Champions League, beating Arsenal in the final. They will now look to maintain their success and continue their title defence, while Barcelona aim to deliver a strong performance in Paris.
