EPL Table After Manchester United Drew 1-1, Chelsea Won 2-0 and Manchester City Won 3-2

According to a report by BBC Sports on Sunday, October 18, 2026, the English Premier League table has witnessed changes following an eventful weekend of football, with Manchester United dropping points against Leeds United, Chelsea securing an important victory over Everton and Manchester City maintaining their perfect start to the campaign.

Manchester City remain the team to beat after recording a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Pep Guardiola's side, managed by Enzo Maresca in this season's campaign, continued their impressive run by collecting their seventh consecutive league victory. The result left City with 21 points from seven matches, keeping them at the top of the standings.

Chelsea also enjoyed a successful afternoon after defeating Everton 2-0 away from home. Pedro Neto scored twice, finding the net shortly after the restart before completing his brace late in the game. The victory took Chelsea to 13 points from seven matches, strengthening their position among the leading teams in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Manchester United were unable to secure maximum points against Leeds United at Elland Road. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for Michael Carrick's team in the 35th minute, giving the visitors hope of recording a valuable away victory.

However, Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised for Leeds in the 51st minute, ensuring that both sides shared the points after an intense contest. The draw left Manchester United with six points from seven matches, having recorded one win, three draws and three defeats. Their position in the lower half of the table will concern supporters who expected a stronger start to the season.

Elsewhere, Liverpool came from behind to defeat Brentford 2-1, while Aston Villa secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Newcastle United. Brighton also produced one of the weekend's most impressive performances by thrashing Crystal Palace 5-0. Bournemouth defeated Sunderland 2-0, adding another important result to the weekend's action.

Arsenal are scheduled to face Nottingham Forest later on Sunday, meaning the standings could change again following that encounter.

With Manchester City continuing to collect victories and Chelsea strengthening their position, the competition at the top of the table is becoming increasingly interesting. Manchester United, on the other hand, must improve their consistency and start turning draws into wins if they hope to challenge for a place among the leading teams.

The next round of fixtures will provide another opportunity for the clubs to improve their positions as the Premier League season continues.
