According to a report by GOAL on Monday October 26, 2026, Lamine Yamal has won the Young Talent of the Year award for the third consecutive year, becoming the first player in the history of the accolade to achieve the feat.
The Barcelona forward was recognised as the best under-21 footballer in the world for 2026, following his previous victories in 2024 and 2025.
At just 19 years old, Yamal continues to establish himself as one of the most exciting talents in world football. His latest achievement further highlights his remarkable development and growing influence at both club and international levels.
The award comes after another impressive campaign with Barcelona, during which the youngster played a significant role in the club's success.
Yamal recorded 24 goals and 18 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 season, underlining his importance to the team's attacking play.
His performances helped Barcelona win La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup, with the winger regularly making the difference through his dribbling, creativity and ability to deliver in decisive moments.
In La Liga, Yamal scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists, finishing the campaign as the competition's leading assist provider, according to the club's report.
His performances also earned him the Best Player in La Liga award for the 2025/26 season, further strengthening his reputation as one of the division's outstanding performers.
On the international stage, Yamal also enjoyed success with Spain, featuring in eight matches and scoring once during the World Cup campaign described in Barcelona's announcement.
His latest individual honour adds to an increasingly impressive collection of achievements for a player who has already become a central figure in Barcelona's plans.
Yamal's success also continues Barcelona's strong association with the award, previously known as the Kopa Trophy. Pedri won the honour in 2021, while Gavi claimed it in 2022, highlighting the club's ability to develop outstanding young footballers.
However, Yamal has now taken that legacy to another level by becoming the first player to win the award in three consecutive editions.
The achievement represents another significant milestone in his young career and reinforces expectations that he could compete for even bigger individual honours in the coming years.
For Barcelona, Yamal's continued success is also a source of pride, reflecting the club's commitment to developing young talent capable of performing on football's biggest stages.
