Cristiano Ronaldo leads global football earnings with an estimated 300 million dollars for the current season, according to a financial ranking published by Forbes. That figure places the Al Nassr forward more than double ahead of Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi, who occupies second place on the list with 145 million dollars in total earnings.
The financial figures compiled by Forbes show that Ronaldo’s annual income breaks down into 250 million dollars from his on-field sporting activities and another 50 million dollars generated through commercial sponsorships and business ventures. Now 41 years old, the Portuguese forward secures the top spot in the global earnings ranking for the fourth year, extending an economic rivalry with Messi that spans more than a decade. The gap between the two longtime rivals stands at 155 million dollars, as Messi pulls in 70 million dollars from his Major League Soccer contract with Inter Miami alongside 75 million dollars in commercial agreements.
Behind the two leading earners, Kylian Mbappé holds third place in the global valuation with 100 million dollars, followed by Manchester City striker Erling Haaland at 85 million dollars. Real Madrid places three players inside the top ten to lead all clubs in representation. Aside from Mbappé, Brazilian forward Vinicius Júnior ranks fifth with 76 million dollars in total income, while English midfielder Jude Bellingham takes eighth spot with 45 million dollars.
FC Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal enters the upper tier of the global earnings list for the first time, claiming sixth position with 55 million dollars. That total marks a significant rise from the 43 million dollars he recorded the previous season, aided by new commercial endorsement deals. The 18-year-old Spaniard stands as the sole Spanish player featured among the ten highest-paid footballers worldwide.
Combined, the ten players account for 942 million dollars in total projected earnings for the season, with Ronaldo and Messi responsible for 445 million dollars of that aggregate sum.
