Lions-related events fans should know for upcoming game in Germany

The Detroit Lions are closing in on their first international appearance in more than a decade.

On Sunday, Nov. 15, the Lions will meet the New England Patriots at FC Bayern Munich Stadium in Munich, Germany. It's shaping up to be an integral game between a couple of playoff hopefuls, with the Lions (4-2) aiming to make a push for the NFC North and the Patriots (4-3) appearing to have bounced back from a 1-2 start.

Beyond the game itself, which kicks off at 9:30 a.m. in Detroit but 3:30 p.m. in Munich, the Lions are offering a host of events for fans to attend, headlined by Detroit Lions Fan Fest.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff (16) hands off to Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (0) in the first quarter. Detroit Lions take on the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 25, 2026 at Ford Field in Detroit.

Beginning at 11 a.m. on both Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14, fans can arrive at Odeonsplatz, a public square in central Munich. Activities include "family-friendly games, giveaways, one-of-a-kind photo opportunities, beer and food trucks," as well as appearances from Lions legends, Lions cheerleaders and mascots, a news release from the team said.

Kevin Saunderson (Nov. 13) and Big Sean (Nov. 14) will hold concerts, with each beginning at 5 p.m. There will also be a pop-up food truck from Mom's Spaghetti, a restaurant created by Eminem.

Those looking to attend Detroit Lions Fan Fest should become a member of One Pride Worldwide, the organization's global fan membership hub. Registration with One Pride Worldwide does not guarantee access, as entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition to the events at Odeonsplatz, Hofbräuhaus, which is a historic beer hall in Munich, will be turned into a "Detroit Lions-themed fan destination" from Nov. 12-15. The business is open between 11 a.m. and midnight local time.

There will also be a "dedicated fan experience within the NFL Fan Experience" on gameday, though specific details have not yet been announced.

"We are thrilled to bring the spirit of Detroit Lions fandom and the energy of Ford Field to Munich,” Lions senior vice president of marketing and brand said. "There is so much passion for our team around the world, particularly in Germany, and we’re eager to deepen the connection we have with our fans there."

Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (14) signals a first down in the third quarter. Detroit Lions take on the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 25, 2026 at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Lions haven't played overseas since they traveled to London, England, in November 2015, when they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs at Wembley Stadium. Not only have the Lions been marketing themselves in Germany since 2024 through the NFL’s Global Markets Program, but star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has ties to the country, as well.

St. Brown's mother, Miriam, was born in Germany, and St. Brown, who speaks German, has visited a number of times. When it was announced the Lions were playing in Germany, St. Brown said it had been a "dream" of his to play in his mother’s home country.

"I cannot wait to play in front of the incredible fans that I’ve gotten to know through my visits and football camps in the country," St. Brown said in a February 2026 news release. "Their support for me and the country’s instant connection to the Lions brand is inspiring, and I’m looking forward to our team getting to showcase Detroit football on an international scale.”
