Real Madrid target another attacking landmark as Leipzig visit Bernabeu – probable line-ups

Real Madrid will aim to maintain their unbeaten start to the Champions League when they host RB Leipzig at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on matchday three.

Jose Mourinho’s side have impressed in front of goal since the competition began and can match a historic record for attacking efficiency with another strong display. RB Leipzig face a difficult challenge, particularly after a series of unconvincing performances away from home.

Both clubs are also dealing with availability concerns ahead of the game.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid will be without several important players. Raul Asencio, Ferland Mendy and Brazil forward Rodrygo remain unavailable to Jose Mourinho.

Thibaut Courtois is expected to start in goal, with Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Dean Huijsen and Marc Cucurella forming the likely defensive line.

Arda Guler, Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham are the anticipated midfield three, while Yan Diomande, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior are expected to lead the attack.

The probable Real Madrid line-up is:

Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois

Defenders: Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Dean Huijsen, Marc Cucurella

Midfielders: Arda Guler, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham

Forwards: Yan Diomande, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior

RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig also travel to Spain with a depleted squad. Young forward Marc Guiu and midfielder Assan Ouedraogo have been ruled out, while Christoph Baumgartner remains a doubt for the Champions League fixture.

Maarten Vandevoordt is in line to start in goal. The expected back four consists of Ridle Baku, Willi Orban, Castello Lukeba and David Raum.

Ezechiel Banzuzi, Neil El Aynaoui and Christopher Nkunku are the likely midfielders, with Brajan Gruda, Romulo Cardoso and Antonio Nusa projected to form the front three.

The probable RB Leipzig line-up is:

Defenders: Ridle Baku, Willi Orban, Castello Lukeba, David Raum

Midfielders: Ezechiel Banzuzi, Neil El Aynaoui, Christopher Nkunku

The match will be Real Madrid’s third fixture in the league phase of the Champions League. Listed odds from 1xbet make Real Madrid clear favourites at 1.25, with a draw priced at 6.50 and an RB Leipzig victory at 10.00.
