Laerskool Kruinsig welcomed several schools to their sports grounds for the Kruinsig 7s Rugby Tournament 2027 on October 16 and 17.

One of the schools the Kruinsig U12 team faced on October 16 was Farrarmere Primary School, and while both schools showed dedication, Kruinsig walked away with a 24–0 victory.

Both teams brought their A-game and showed that they deserved to walk away with a win; however, Kruinsig dominated the game from the beginning and took every chance they had to snatch points. Although Farrarmere were dominated, they put in a good performance.

“We had a few tournaments before this tournament and we performed very well, even though there were some players who were sick and unavailable, but we are very fortunate that we have all of them today.

“I think the hard work will pay off. The boys know that the 7s game is quick and at the end of the day, the team that holds the ball most of the time will win this game.

“From Farrarmere’s side, well done to those boys, it was very good competition,” said Laerskool Kruinsig coach Nathan Grobler.
Joey Bronkhorst scored the first try, giving Kruinsig the lead, and continued to look for more opportunities for a second try. Farrarmere were not discouraged; instead, Kruinsig’s try motivated them to put in more work to try and register a score of their own.

Reuben Senekal quickly registered the second try for Kruinsig, creating a gap between them and their opponents.

However, the gap was not too wide for Farrarmere to reach as they continued to push forward, but Kruinsig were just too strong and controlled possession for the entire first half.

“This game was tough because Kruinsig is a really good team, but I also give credit to our boys because it is the first time playing the 7s games. We put a lot of hard work in that game; we could have shown a little bit more heart in that game, but I am really proud of the boys and our performance for today.

“Kruinsig played very well against us, they looked organised as a team, you can see they have been playing with each other for a long time. We have just started with our 7s and it is also our first year of rugby, we weren’t as organised as them,” said Farrarmere Primary School player Senama Buthelezi.

Farrarmere were having a hard time attacking and defending, which left them vulnerable, and Arno Cloete took advantage of that opportunity and ran in the third try for Kruinsig.

While Farrarmere were having a hard time creating chances, Kruinsig took every chance they created to ensure a win.

In the second half, Farrarmere still delivered a great performance, but Kruinsig did not slow down. A few minutes into the second half, Skylo Swiegers ran in the fourth and winning try for Kruinsig. Kruinsig walked away with a 24–0 win against the visitors.

“Our team played well, we did well and I think I also did well as an individual. The opponents did very well, in this game, there was competition and I just wish we could work harder as a team,” said Laerskool Kruinsig player Dillon Flemix.
Flemix was awarded for his outstanding performance and was named man of the match.
