Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has applauded four Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) players after their impressive 4-2 victory over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
New Telegraph had earlier reported that PSG secured all three points in Paris through goals from Désiré Doué, Lucas Hernández, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz.
Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal were on target for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona side, but their efforts were not enough to prevent defeat against the French champions.
New Telegraph gathered that Henry singled out Fabian Ruiz, Joao Neves, Vitinha and Achraf Hakimi for their exceptional performances, particularly highlighting the dominance of PSG’s midfield.
“They [PSG] just dominated the games. Fabian Ruiz, Joao Neves and Vitinha, they controlled that game. That midfield was just outstanding,” Henry said.
The former France international also praised Hakimi’s contribution, noting that PSG maintained their playing style despite losing players on the wing.
“Not only the midfield, but Hakimi was also outstanding and losing players on the wing didn’t change the way PSG played against Barcelona.”
