Abus Magomedov looked better than ever earlier today (Sat., Oct. 24, 2026) at UFC 333 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, turning in a dominant first-round submission (guillotine choke) over dangerous prospect Cam Rowston.
Magomedov, who was coming off a submission win in his last Octagon appearance this past June, was a slight betting favorite for Saturday’s “Prelims” showdown. That’s because Rowston came in with a lot of momentum having won his first three UFC fights. Magomedov had more overall Octagon experience, but he still needed to prove he’s a level above the new wave of fighters.
Magomedov did some good work early on in this fight with leg kicks and long range punches, which promoted Rowston to shoot for a takedown in the center of the cage. As Rowston was moving in Magomedov locked up a tight guillotine choke. The two middleweights hit the ground and Rowston immediately started to defend the choke. Unfortunately for him, Magomedov’s grip was too strong. Rowston eventually went to sleep as the referee finally moved in.
