Indonesian rider M. Kiandra Ramadhipa endured a dramatic twist during the opening race of the final FIM JuniorGP World Championship round at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, slipping from pole position to a tenth-place finish following a penalty, according to reports from OtomotifZone and ANTARA News.
The weekend began with a breakthrough for the rookie racer. Riding the Honda NSF250RW for the Honda Asia-Dream Racing Junior Team, Ramadhipa secured his maiden pole position during Saturday qualifying at the Italian circuit, as documented by OtomotifZone. That speed evaporated immediately when the lights went out for Sunday’s first 16-lap encounter. Giulio Pugliese seized the holeshot off the line, relegating the Indonesian to second place.
What followed was a frantic multi-rider scramble at the front involving roughly half a dozen contenders. Ramadhipa briefly reclaimed the lead before yielding to Fernando Bujosa of AC Racing. As the battle intensified through the opening laps, Yaroslav Karpushin pushed his way past the leading pack to claim second place by lap four. Ramadhipa fought back into the podium places by lap six, briefly climbing to second before dropping back to third ahead of the closing stages.
While Fernando Bujosa went on to claim the victory in Race 1 with Yaroslav Karpushin taking second, Ramadhipa’s on-track effort unravelled in the final moments. According to OtomotifZone, the Honda rider initially crossed the line in third position. However, race stewards intervened after detecting that he had touched the green track-limits line on the final lap.
ANTARA News reported that because Ramadhipa failed to execute an assigned long lap penalty, officials slapped him with a six-second time addition. That sanction dropped his classification all the way down to tenth place, wiping out what looked to be a strong podium finish on his debut campaign.
Further down the order, the broader championship picture reached its definitive conclusion. Spanish rookie Carlos Cano claimed the 2026 FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship crown after finishing third in that same opening race at Misano, as detailed by ANTARA News. Competing for the CFMoto Aspar Junior team, the 16-year-old secured five victories of the season earlier in the calendar at venues like Jerez, Magny-Cours, Valencia, and Aragón.
That third-place finish brought Cano’s tally to 196 points, establishing a 40-point lead over teammate Yaroslav Karpushin with only one race remaining. The triumph guarantees Cano a path toward the Moto3 2027 grid for the following season.
Determined to erase the disappointment of the morning penalty, Ramadhipa bounced back in Race 2. OtomotifZone noted that the rookie delivered an emotional response by securing second place in a photo finish, missing out on the victory by a margin of just 0.006 seconds. That result capped a campaign that included a victory at Estoril and four total podium appearances, helping him secure fifth place in the final season standings after appeals and race recalculations.
