FC Barcelona forward Karim Adeyemi has rediscovered his best form under manager Hansi Flick, transforming his standing at the club after a turbulent final period with Borussia Dortmund marked by injuries and a loss of regular playing time, according to reports in elmundo.es.

Karim Adeyemi Finds New Life Under Hansi Flick at Barcelona

The German international arrived at the Catalan club last summer following a 22-million-euro transfer from Borussia Dortmund. Questions immediately surfaced over whether the fee represented a bargain as physical setbacks derailed the momentum he had previously built in Salzburg and during his early months in Germany. Since joining Barcelona, however, Adeyemi has carved out an effective role under Hansi Flick, primarily operating as an explosive attacking spark off the bench.

In La Liga competition, Adeyemi has featured in nine matches, contributing two goals and three assists while earning three starts. His first league goal came during a 5-0 away victory against Elche. His second arrived during a tense 4-2 win over Levante, where he sealed the result with a trademark burst of speed after the opponents had narrowed a three-goal deficit to 3-2.

Adeyemi Scores Twice in Champions League Appearances

In the UEFA Champions League, Adeyemi has maintained a similar substitute profile, netting two goals across three appearances. He scored in a 5-1 rout of Feyenoord at the Spotify Camp Nou and added another in a 4-1 away triumph against Galatasaray at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium.

Despite his limited starting assignments, the forward with Nigerian and Romanian heritage has embraced his bench responsibilities with discipline. He noted that accepting a coach’s tactical choices mirrors the path taken by Raphinha, who flourished under Flick after facing uncertainty at the end of Xavi Hernández’s tenure. Flick is the reason why estás aquí and I am very grateful to him, Adeyemi stated via club media, utilizing the exact sentiment of his working relationship with the German manager. I speak with him honestly and that is very important. We have a special connection, as he has with the whole team.

Adapting to Life in Barcelona

Adeyemi credits his integration to early guidance from Flick regarding off-field adjustment. He told me to enjoy every training session, the atmosphere of the team, of Barcelona, of the Catalans… That was the first thing he taught me, the forward said. Describing his transition to Spotify Camp Nou, he admitted the reality still feels surreal. I enjoy the sun, the people… Everyone is very kind. I couldn’t choose what is best. Everything is very nice. Some friends still tell me that I don’t believe which club I am playing for. Sometimes I think I’m still in a dream, he remarked.

The transition has brought a relaxed atmosphere that extends to lighthearted internal competition. Addressing his place behind winger Anthony Gordon in Flick’s current pecking order, Adeyemi offered a swift evaluation: In a race, he would be second fastest. I would beat him for sure.
