Leeds United are considering a move for Marseille forward Igor Paixao as they assess attacking options ahead of the January transfer window.
Daniel Farke’s side are seventh in the Premier League after six matches, but their early-season record includes only eight goals. That lack of attacking output could prompt Leeds to strengthen when the transfer market reopens.
Paixao has emerged as a potential target, with Marseille facing significant financial pressure. Football Insider reports that Leeds could make an offer for the 26-year-old at the beginning of 2027.
Leeds have already shown an interest in Paixao and are understood to have made previous approaches. That reportedly included a bid during the summer which was rejected, although Marseille’s current financial situation has changed the outlook over whether they would be willing to sell.
The forward scored 12 goals in all competitions. However, he is under contract with Marseille until June 2030, meaning the Ligue 1 club are expected to seek about £40M before considering a transfer.
