Gameweek 8 has come and gone as we made it seven wins from eight matches thanks to a 2-0 triumph over Everton.
We now head to Liverpool on Sunday, giving players of Fantasy Premier League plenty to ponder as we head into the penultimate month of 2026.
The FPL have got plenty of tips for your side, whether that's selecting Gunners or beyond. Here's all you need to know about Gameweek 9!
Arsenal’s centre-back pairing stole the show in the Gunners’ 2-0 victory against Everton in Gameweek 8. Gabriel (£7.9m) and Ezri Konsa (£4.7m) both found the back of the net, returning 17-point and 14-point hauls, respectively. Konsa followed up his nine-point return in Gameweek 7 with a new season’s best thanks to a goal, clean sheet and two bonus points.
The Englishman continues to provide exceptional value for money in Fantasy, despite rising in price this week. Gabriel also scored his first goal of the season and produced defensive contribution points, reaching the threshold for the second consecutive Gameweek and fourth time overall. The Brazilian is now the second-highest scoring defender in the game.
Ben White (£5.4m) makes it three Gunners defenders in the top ten overall and also notched a double-digit points return against the Toffees. The Englishman picked up an assist and a share of the bonus. Over the last three Gameweeks, White has three starts, two assists and two clean sheets, scoring 21 points in that time. The right-back is a significant differential at less than 5% ownership. David Raya (£6.2m) also benefitted from Arsenal’s fifth clean sheet of the season and extended his lead at the top of the goalkeeper points standings. The Spaniard produced a save point for the third time in 26/27.
Elsewhere, Martin Odegaard (£6.7m) was the pick of the Gunners attackers and was unlucky not to return for his 17% ownership. No player registered more expected goal involvement (xGI) in the match than the Norwegian. Odegaard racked up five shots on goal and created two chances, as well as taking five corners. Declan Rice (£7.4m) also caught the eye, creating a match-high four chances, including one big chance.
Outside of Arsenal, Nicolas Jackson (£6.8m) is the most-bought player with over 900,000 purchases ahead of the GW9 deadline. The Aston Villa forward bagged a brace against Man City and has already risen in price twice this week. Jackson has scored four goals in the last four Gameweeks, returning 30 Fantasy points in that time. Villa play Fulham at home this week and enjoy a favorable run of fixtures right up until Gameweek 16.
Marcus Tavernier (£6.5m) continues to rise in ownership and is the most-bought midfielder with over 600,000 purchases. The Bournemouth midfielder registered his fourth double-digit haul of the season in the Cherries’ 3-0 victory against Man United. Among all midfielders, Tavernier ranks second for expected goal involvement (xGI) and has scored five goals in eight matches. Bournemouth’s upcoming fixture run is extremely favorable with just one of their next 11 matches ranking harder than a three on the ‘Fixture Difficulty Rating’ (FDR).
Tavernier’s teammate, Evanilson (£6.2m), is also proving popular with over 350,000 transfers in. The Brazilian has scored in three consecutive matches, returning 25 points in that time including a 12-point haul against Sunderland in Gameweek 7. Evanilson remains a differential at just 9% ownership.
Another forward, Alexander Isak (£9.0m) is in demand after back-to-back nine-point returns. The Liverpool number nine is the second-highest scoring forward in the game, behind Erling Haaland, but faces a tough match-up against the Gunners this weekend. It may prove sensible to come back to the Swede after this week’s fixture against the Champions.
Make sure you don’t miss the deadline! Finalise your team by 11am GMT on Saturday 31st October ahead of Chelsea versus Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
The biggest dilemma this week for most FPL managers is what to do with Joao Pedro (£7.8m) who has been ruled out for “a few weeks” due to a thigh injury. Transferring him out looks like the sensible thing to do, with the aforementioned Jackson and Evanilson viable options. Both players are cheaper than Pedro, giving you money in the bank, and enjoy very favourable upcoming fixture runs.
