Garnacho’s Aston Villa future in doubt amid permanent-transfer clause concerns

Alejandro Garnacho’s future at Aston Villa is uncertain, with the club reportedly prepared to manage his playing time to avoid triggering an option to sign him permanently.

Journalist Ekrem Konur reported the claim on social media. According to the report, Garnacho will need to improve his performances if he is to remain with the Birmingham club beyond his current arrangement.

Aston Villa signed the 22-year-old Argentine midfielder on loan from Chelsea until the end of the 2026/2027 season. The agreement includes an option relating to a permanent transfer, which the club is said to be seeking to avoid activating.

Garnacho has made three appearances in the English Premier League this season and has yet to register a goal or assist.
