2026 Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane has revealed the one quality he would love to borrow from Lionel Messi, admitting that it could make him almost impossible for defenders to stop.
Speaking to French newspaper L’Équipe, Kane was asked which ability from another Ballon d’Or winner he would like to possess. The England captain immediately chose Lionel Messi’s famous left foot.
With a smile, he suggested that combining the Argentine’s exceptional technique with his own finishing ability would make him an even more dangerous striker.
Kane took a modest stance, saying it is all relative because there are so many elite players, before playfully adding his ultimate footballing fantasy about inheriting Messi’s signature trait.
“If I had Messi’s left foot right now, stopping me would be practically impossible!”
The 33-year-old also reflected on his current level. Kane believes he has never been more complete as a footballer, both physically and mentally.
His understanding of space, movement inside the penalty area and ability to create scoring opportunities have continued to improve throughout his career.
New Telegraph recalls that the Bayern Munich superstar became the first English player in 25 years to win the men’s Ballon d’Or.
Kane secured the trophy after a sensational campaign in which he scored 73 goals in 65 matches for club and country, spearheading a domestic league and cup double for Bayern Munich while driving England to a third-place finish at the World Cup.
