Oberhaching Tropics suffer heavy defeat against Frankfurt Skyliners Juniors

The TSV Oberhaching Tropics suffered a 102-72 defeat against the Skyliners Juniors in Frankfurt on Sunday, October 26, 2026, marking the team’s weakest season performance in the 2. Liga ProB. Head coach Mario Matic described the performance as the squad’s weakest outing of the campaign, pointing to excessive disputes with officials that distracted players from their own game on the floor of the Ballsporthalle am Main.

Stau Delays and Referee Disputes Disrupt the Game Plan

Travel complications on the Autobahn set an unwelcome tone for the Oberbayern side before tip-off. Once the game got underway, the visiting team struggled to establish any offensive rhythm against the backup squad of the BBL club. Matic acknowledged that while several officiating decisions proved unfortunate, his players erred by engaging in prolonged arguments with the referees rather than executing their tactical variations.

Trotz der Niederlage maintainen die Tropics eine solide 4-2-Bilanz in der 2. Liga ProB. The team managed to keep pace early on, briefly claiming a 17-12 lead late in the first quarter following aggressive drives by Max May and Nedzad Muratovic. However, Frankfurt responded decisively before the quarter break and capitalized on defensive lapses during transition play.

BBL Dual-License Players Power Frankfurt Past Oberhaching

Frankfurt fielded a complete starting five composed of dual-license players holding substantial BBL experience, a factor Matic highlighted when assessing the lopsided outcome. Jamie Edoka led all scorers with 25 points for the hosts, while teammate Moses Pölking anchored the paint with nine rebounds. The young Frankfurt lineup dominated the boards through the second and third quarters, outscoring Oberhaching 34-12 in the third frame to extend the margin to 77-44.

Philipp Bode provided a late highlight for the visitors by landing a three-pointer from beyond half-court at the halftime buzzer, cutting Frankfurt’s advantage to 43-32 at the break. Dzenis Hodovic shared team-scoring honors for Oberhaching alongside Bode. Though mathematically out of reach heading into the final period, the Tropics mounted a resilient response to take the fourth quarter 28-25, softening the final scoreline in an otherwise difficult road fixture.
