Maduka Okoye conceded twice as Udinese were beaten 2-0 at home by AC Milan in Serie A on Sunday.
The Nigeria international made his seventh appearance of the campaign in goal for Udinese, taking his total number of goals conceded this season to 18.
Samuel Chukwueze was not involved for AC Milan, with the Nigeria forward absent because of an injury layoff.
AC Milan controlled the early stages, using patient build-up play to test the Udinese defence. The visitors eventually made their pressure count in the first half, breaking the deadlock after a quick combination in the final third.
Udinese tried to respond after the interval and looked for a way back into the match, but AC Milan’s midfield remained compact and their defence dealt effectively with the home side’s attempts to create an opening.
The Rossoneri then secured the points late in the half when they completed a swift counter-attack to extend their lead. The second goal effectively ended Udinese’s hopes of mounting a comeback.
The result allows AC Milan to maintain their momentum away from home, while Udinese were left frustrated by their inability to produce clear-cut chances against their opponents.
Okoye, who has been involved regularly for Udinese during the current campaign, was unable to prevent the hosts from suffering a second-half setback after Milan had established control through their disciplined structure.
AC Milan’s success was built on the contrast between their patient approach in possession and their efficiency when opportunities emerged. They used the first-half combination to move ahead before relying on a rapid break to settle the contest later on.
For Udinese, the defeat highlighted the difficulty they faced in breaking through a well-organised AC Milan side. Despite their efforts after the break, the home team could not turn their possession and attacking attempts into goals.
Chukwueze’s absence meant he played no part in AC Milan’s away victory, while Okoye completed the match in goal for Udinese as the visitors returned home with a convincing 2-0 win.
