Who are favourites to be relegated from the Premier League in 2026/27?

The Championship’s calling for three teams…

We enjoyed a thrilling battle to beat the drop last season as Tottenham gave their fans a proper fright before eventually condemning West Ham to the drop. The new campaign’s out of the gates and Paddy Power’s top traders have priced up a Premier League relegation betting market.

Sunderland and Leeds broke the mould in 2025/26 as they actually managed to avoid an instant return to the Championship. Instead, Burnley were the sole newcomers to drop straight back down, alongside West Ham and Wolves.

Installed in their place were Ipswich, Hull and – after an absence of 25 years from the Premier League – Coventry City. The latter spent 34 consecutive seasons in the top-flight during their last stay, but current odds suggest they’ll be lucky to get anywhere near emulating that.

Can the promoted trio survive? With no further ado, let’s take a look at Paddy’s latest relegation prices…

Coventry – 4/7

It was looking bleak for last season’s Championship champions after four defeats from their first four. There was a glimmer of hope for Coventry after beating Nottingham Forest and Newcastle, but Frank Lampard has his work cut out following losses to Tottenham and Fulham.

Hull – 8/11

Championship play-off winners Hull are the surprise package so far. Manchester United were mauled by the Tigers on the opening day and that set the tone for Sergej Jakirovic’s team to take a very encouraging 10 points from the first 24 available. They were fancied to prop up the pack but are giving it a hell of a go, with just two losses so far among some decent results, including a potentially crucial win at Coventry and a spirited 2-2 draw against Chelsea down in the capital.

Man City – 8/11

They’re the second favourites to win the Premier League title, but could a points deduction after being found guilty of breaching financial rules plunge Man City into relegation trouble? They’re appealing, of course, so the show goes on for the time being.

Crystal Palace – 17/10

After a couple of trophy-laden seasons, it looks like Crystal Palace may be in a relegation fight this term. The mastermind behind their silverware streak, Oliver Glasner, has gone, and his replacement Pierre Sage has had a tricky start. The Eagles have lost five of their first eight games, with a leaky defence being the biggest culprit. The Eagles have shipped a league-high 19 goals so far, with their latest defeat seeing them ship two against Newcastle.

Ipswich – 21/10

After being relegated in 2024/25, Ipswich bounced back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. There was also change ahead of their return as Gary O’Neill took over from Kieran McKenna. Portman Road chiefs were active in the transfer window and the new boys have delivered on the pitch. Ipswich have claimed three wins from their eight outings to sit in the middle of the pack at this early stage. A promising start indeed.
