Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has provided a positive injury update on Pedro Porro ahead of Spurs’ clash with Coventry.

Roberto De Zerbi’s latest injury update ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Coventry City will have left many Spurs fans concerned.

The Tottenham boss revealed that the Lilywhites are dealing with two fresh injury setbacks, with Savio and Lucas Bergvall picking up knocks following the Manchester United game. Both players are now set to miss a few weeks of action, which is far from ideal given Spurs’ struggles this season.

De Zerbi explained: “No Savio, unfortunately Savio on Tuesday before leaving for Marbella felt a muscular problem and we have lost him for some weeks.

“And Lucas Bergvall because he had a problem in Manchester early on in the first chance he created for Dominic Solanke. He felt pain in his knee but felt fine and on Sunday he came to the training ground and he’ll be out for two weeks.”

Tottenham boosted by latest Pedro Porro update

It is not all negative news for Spurs, as De Zerbi has provided a positive update on sidelined star Pedro Porro.

The full-back picked up a knock in Tottenham’s last home game against Aston Villa and was taken off before the 30-minute mark. That injury kept Porro out of Spain’s squad during the international break, but a return is now close.

Speaking to football.london, De Zerbi revealed that Porro could be back next weekend when Spurs face Chelsea. He said: “Pedro, I think he’s coming. Maybe in Chelsea he can play.”

Dejan Kulusevski is set for a return against Coventry

There’s more good news for Spurs fans, as Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Dejan Kulusevski is set to return to the bench on Monday after more than 500 days out injured.

Kulusevski has made encouraging progress in his recovery over recent weeks, even featuring in an 11‑a‑side training match. His hard work has now culminated in this latest milestone, with the Swede poised to be named among the substitutes.

He said: “Yes [he will be on the bench], the medical staff have given the ok. It’s probably the greatest news since the Everton game. He has suffered too much. I told him yesterday and he had a big smile on his face.”
