Arsenal set record for one-goal victories across Europe’s top five leagues

Arsenal have recorded 18 wins by a one-goal margin over the past two seasons the highest total of any club in Europe’s five leading domestic leagues, according to statistics website Squawka Football.

The latest came in their seventh-round match in the English top flight, when Mikel Arteta’s side beat Nottingham Forest 1-0.

Arsenal struggled to create clear opportunities at the City Ground. They did not register a shot on target until the 70th minute and finished with only one effort on target in total.

Nottingham Forest offered little threat in attack either, managing two shots during the match, as Arsenal held on for another narrow victory.

Arsenal, who won the English championship last season, are second in the current table. They trail leaders Manchester City by 3 points.
