After deciding late that he wanted a career in sports journalism, Daniel worked his way up the ladder in an unconventional manner.

Having opted against university, Daniel worked with Sky Sports as a freelance contributor and translator during transfer windows while also volunteering on several other blog pages and outlets to get a portfolio of content together.

Daniel then worked with Barnet FC as part of their social media team before starting his own website, which focused on football and MMA content.

That eventually led to work with 90min and Reach PLC with The Mirror, Daily Record, Daily Express, and Manchester Evening News.

Following that, Daniel spent two-and-a-half years with Breaking Media covering Everton, Rangers, Leeds, West Ham and other clubs before joining GiveMeSport as a Premier League editor.

As well as football, Daniel is a huge MMA fan and has appeared on YouTube and podcast content too.

Tottenham Hotspur made it three consecutive victories in the Premier League with a routine 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

Spurs took the lead thanks to Archie Gray's header in the 24th minute, with Palace having been reduced to ten men 12 minutes prior after Jean-Philippe Mateta saw red for a foul on Micky Van de Ven. The hosts wrapped up the points late on thanks to Jan Paul van Hecke's header, as Roberto De Zerbi's men dominated the game and never looked in danger of dropping points.

It was a major change of feeling from recent months, and the team has got some major momentum behind them now as they prepare to head into the next international break in the top half of the table.

But despite the three points and a strong performance over 90 minutes, there were some disappointing factors that the manager will be looking at heading into their next game against Leeds United next Saturday afternoon.

While the team managed 34 shots and nine shots on target in the game against Palace, it never truly felt like they were knocking on the door for a goal on a regular basis. The tempo was often quite slow, and the movement in the final third was relatively non-existent from the attackers, with midfield runners and full-backs providing the biggest threat.

Both goals came from crosses and were scored by defenders, and in a game where the team had 79 percent possession over the course of the match, De Zerbi will surely have questions about the forwards in his squad.

One player in particular who is yet to really make a big impact for the club is Omar Marmoush, who joined the club from Man City on an initial loan deal, with an obligation for the deal to become permanent for around £60m next summer.

The Egyptian has been played regularly by De Zerbi, and the Italian manager has worked hard to find the perfect spot for him in the team. Against Palace, Marmoush played as the number ten, behind Solanke and with Kudus and Tel on either side of him.

He's also played off the wing and as a central number nine this season, but so far he has managed just one goal in the Premier League, and he has struggled to justify his constant selection. After watching him play against ten men for almost an entire game and do nothing, De Zerbi must surely be regretting giving the deal the green light at this point.

When he signed, Marmoush was believed to be the man that De Zerbi was looking at to lead his new forward line as the central striker. But that hasn't worked out, and he is now being moved all over the shop in order to try and make an impact.

But despite the recent good form of the team and the strong results, De Zerbi will be wondering how much better things could be if he had a central striker in the squad instead of the 27-year-old, who he could rely upon to do the job he wants.

Had a deal been completed for someone else and they were able to find the net consistently in this setup, then Spurs would undoubtedly be in even better shape, and their slow start to the season may not have ever been an issue. Instead, though, the club are now tied up with a struggling Marmoush who doesn't even fit the manager's plans properly.

It's beginning to look like a big mistake in a transfer market that was very busy and expensive, and unless he is able to step it up quickly then there's every chance that he could be on his way out of the lineup sooner rather than later.
