Arsenal targeting Nicolo Tresoldi as potential Viktor Gyökeres replacement

Arsenal’s attacking plans could be heading towards a significant change as questions emerge over Viktor Gyökeres’ future at the Emirates Stadium.

With the Gunners continuing to assess their options at centre-forward, a rising star in Belgian football has reportedly emerged as a potential alternative.

Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi is attracting growing interest from across the Premier League after an impressive run in front of goal.

Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring the German forward, who could become a target if Mikel Arteta’s side decide to reshape their attacking options.

Nicolo Tresoldi Emerges as Gyökeres Alternative

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal had representatives watching Tresoldi during Club Brugge’s recent victory over St Truiden, in which the 22-year-old scored a hat-trick.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United were also represented, highlighting the competition Arsenal could face.

Tresoldi has enjoyed a prolific spell in Belgium, with his goalscoring performances strengthening his reputation as one of Europe’s promising young forwards. Reports have suggested that Arsenal are considering him as a possible replacement for Gyökeres, whose future has come under scrutiny following a difficult start to the campaign.

Gyökeres arrived at Arsenal with high expectations, but uncertainty surrounding his role has fuelled speculation about whether the club could consider a change in attack. Tresoldi’s recent form has reportedly put him on the radar as a potential option, although there is no guarantee that Arsenal will move to sell their Swedish striker or make a formal bid for the Brugge forward.

Any deal would also be complicated by Club Brugge’s stance. TEAMtalk reports that the Belgian club have no intention of selling Tresoldi in January and would demand a club-record fee exceeding €40 million to consider his departure.

With several Premier League sides monitoring his progress, Arsenal could face a competitive and expensive transfer battle if they decide to pursue him.

What This Means for Arsenal

Tresoldi represents a potential long-term option for Arsenal if the club decide to reassess their centre-forward position. His goalscoring form has attracted attention, but moving from Belgian football to the Premier League would present a different challenge, particularly if he were expected to lead the line for a title-chasing side.

Arsenal must also weigh the financial implications of a deal against the uncertainty surrounding Gyökeres’ future. Signing Tresoldi would require a substantial investment, and Club Brugge’s determination to keep him until at least the end of the season makes a January move difficult.

For now, Arsenal’s reported interest suggests the club are assessing their attacking options rather than confirming a change is imminent. If Gyökeres’ situation develops and Tresoldi maintains his impressive form, the young striker could become one to watch in Arsenal’s future transfer plans.
