“That was my greatest shot.” That was how proud Caitlin Clark sounded the last time she showed off her photography skills, and the subject was her idol. Now the Fever star is back at it. Another night, another game, and another click of the camera. This time, though, plenty of people were watching her, and they had a lot to say about it.

In the Pacers vs. 76ers game on Wednesday, which the Sixers won 114-109, fans caught Clark capturing LeBron James while he was in action. She held a small camera up as James played, kept a straight face, and clicked the shot.
The game gave her plenty to watch. James and the Sixers found their rhythm in the second quarter and led by as many as 15 points. Indiana fought back in the second half and built a 13-point lead by the end of the third, their biggest of the night. But the Sixers stormed back in the fourth, outlasted a loud home crowd and walked away with the win.
This was the second time Clark pointed her camera at James on a court this year. She also took pictures of him earlier in the year, and it is well known that she is a big LeBron fan.
“The pictures of the LeBron I took, did you guys see? … I need to print it out and get him to sign it for me. The King, that’s my GOAT,” Clark said at the time.
The camera was not the end of it. After the 76ers beat the Pacers, Clark headed through the tunnel toward the visitors’ locker room. On the way in, she stopped to talk with Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey, who led Philadelphia with 27 points. It was the first time the two had really met, and he made it clear he enjoyed it.
“Sometimes you try not to fan out, but it was really cool seeing her. It’s her building; she plays here too. … So it’s good seeing her. She’s nice,” he said.
The biggest moment came next. Clark met up with James in the halls of Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and the two chatted privately for a while. James also gifted her one of his 76ers jerseys. He was not available to the media after the game, so nothing from their talk was shared. His support for her goes back to her rookie days.
In 2024, he said, “I’m rooting for Caitlin because I’ve been in that seat before. I’ve walked that road before. I hope she kills.”
Once the moment spread, the reactions came in fast, and they went in every direction.
One fan wrote, “Waiting for him to flop.” That is a long-running joke among James’ critics, who say he goes down too easily on contact. On this night, though, his biggest impact came as a passer. He had 10 assists and kept the Sixers’ offense moving.
Another said, “Meanwhile Angel Reese boutta get her first ring 😂.” This one pulls in the Clark and Reese rivalry. Reese’s Atlanta Dream is in the WNBA Finals against the Golden State Valkyries, and the series is now tied 3-3 after the Dream won Game 6. CBS Sports ranked Reese as the leading Finals MVP candidate, while the Fever were already out in the first round.
A third fan posted, “She should be working on her handle & defense.” The defense point has some basis. Clark had a 110.0 defensive rating this season, and while the Fever led the league at 96 points per game, their defense was a problem in the first-round loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
Some focused on the camera itself. “Why not use her phone lol,” one fan asked. Most people at a game just use their phone, so a small camera stood out. Clark has done this before, though. In March, she worked as a credentialed photographer for the Pacers’ game against the Lakers, using a big professional camera. Clicking pictures, it seems, is something she picked up in 2025 while still recovering from her injury, when she took photos on the road and at shootaround.
The last reaction was the harshest: “taking notes on how not to play basketball.” The jab was aimed at James, who is 41 and in his first season with the 76ers. He did not have a big scoring night, finishing with 13 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds in 33 minutes. Still, Philadelphia improved to 4-1 by outscoring Indiana 39-21 in the fourth quarter to erase a 13-point deficit.
In the end, whatever fans joked about online, Clark left Gainbridge Fieldhouse with a chat with her GOAT and his jersey in hand.
