Chelsea And Arsenal Make Offers To Sign Tomás Aranda

Chelsea and Arsenal are both interested in signing Boca Juniors’ Tomás Aranda, and the two Premier League clubs may compete for his services.

The 19-year-old’s performance, ability, and versatility would have piqued Chelsea and Arsenal’s interest.

He joined Boca Juniors’ first team earlier this year after progressing through the club’s development system.

Aranda has a goal and three assists in 32 matches while primarily playing as a left wing-back but occasionally in different offensive positions.

Chelsea And Arsenal Previously Expressed Interest

Sport Witness highlighted a story from Argentina in August that revealed Chelsea had joined Arsenal in their pursuit of him. However, a move never materialized in the summer, and he remains at the Argentine club.

Last month, we reported that Xabi Alonso’s side is trying to recruit Tomás Aranda at the start of 2027.

El Intransigente says that the two London clubs, as well as Napoli, continue to seek him.

Chelsea, Arsenal, and Serie A clubs have all expressed interest in Aranda’s progress at Boca Juniors. These teams have only made approaches and will continue to monitor him without making any offers.

Chelsea Might Beat Arsenal To Signing

The Stamford Bridge club could contemplate signing the Argentina international and loaning him to RC Strasbourg. The Blues are considering many options, including a loan spell with the Ligue 1 team.

Tomás Aranda has a contract until December 2029, and Transfermarkt values him at €12 million. It also has a $20 million [€17.8 million] clause, which will increase to €25 million [€22.3 million] before the start of the Argentine season next year.

Boca Juniors intends to keep him, unless one of his suitors triggers the clause. Lionel Messi has even openly praised him as his career has advanced.

Surprisingly, El Intransigente does not mention the devastating hit he suffered in August. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Napoli appear unconcerned by the player’s probable absence until December.

These clubs would like to wait until Aranda returns to the field before making any additional moves, either in January or next summer.
