Senegalese wrestling is set to reach a wider television audience after CANAL+ and audiovisual production company BEUZ PRO signed a strategic agreement granting CANAL+ exclusive broadcasting rights to major events across French-speaking, English-speaking and Portuguese-speaking Sub-Saharan Africa for the 2026-2027 season.
The agreement will bring some of Senegal's biggest wrestling match-ups to CANAL+SPORT channels in French and Wolof, as well as SUPERSPORT in English, expanding access to a sport that holds a prominent place in Senegalese culture.
The broadcast schedule begins in November, with six major events featuring some of the country's most celebrated wrestling stars.
The agreement also strengthens CANAL+'s investment in African sports and locally rooted content, with the broadcaster aiming to give Senegalese wrestling greater visibility across more than 40 countries in the region.
The 2026-2027 season will feature a series of headline bouts organised by Al Bourakh Events and Jambaar Productions, two leading promoters in Senegalese wrestling, and produced by BEUZ PRO.
November 29, 2026 – The Verdict: Ada Fass vs Balla Gaye 2.
January 3, 2027 – The Royal Clash: Sa Thiès vs Siteu.
February 7, 2027 – The Fight of the Millennium: Franc vs Reug Reug.
April 4, 2027 – The Independence Derby: Ama Baldé vs Lac de Guiers 2, alongside Eumeu Sène vs Jackson.
Two additional major events are scheduled for June and July 2027, with further details to be announced.
The line-up brings together prominent names in Senegalese wrestling, giving fans across the region access to several high-profile contests throughout the season.
For BEUZ PRO, the partnership represents an opportunity to take the sport beyond its established audience and introduce more viewers across Africa to its leading competitors and events.
Ibrahima Faye, CEO of BEUZ PRO, said: “This partnership marks a historic milestone for Senegalese wrestling. Together with CANAL+ and our promoter partners, we are giving our sport the visibility it has long deserved across Sub-Saharan Africa.”
CANAL+ Africa CEO David Mignot said the agreement builds on the broadcaster's previous coverage of Senegalese wrestling, including the broadcast of the Royal Clash on CANAL+SPORT 1 in April.
He said the partnership reinforces CANAL+'s ambition to expand its African content offering while giving one of Senegal's most iconic sports greater exposure across the region.
The agreement places Senegalese wrestling alongside the growing range of African sporting and entertainment content available to audiences through regional broadcasting platforms.
With six major events planned for the season and two more scheduled for mid-2027, fans will have further opportunities to follow the rivalries and personalities shaping the sport.
The partnership also highlights the role of broadcasters and production companies in taking African sporting traditions to new audiences, while creating greater regional visibility for the athletes, promoters and events at the centre of the action.
