Muhammad Mokaev has seemingly had a change of perspective.
The UFC has made a string of controversial decisions regarding the roster in recent years, and one of the most high-profile departures came at 125 pounds.
Despite being a top-five flyweight and having zero losses on his record, Mokaev was let go by the UFC following his victory over Manel Kape just over two years ago.
‘The Punisher’ has been trying to work his way back to the Octagon since then, but it appears that pursuit has now ended.
Mokaev has won four fights under three different promotional banners since the UFC’s shock decision not to re-sign him in 2024.
Most recently, Mokaev won in Ilia Topuria’s Spanish organization, knocking out Jorge Calvo in just 42 seconds seven months after also becoming the inaugural Brave CF flyweight champion.
After victorious performances in both MMA and grappling, Mokaev has sent messages to Dana White and the UFC regarding a return to the promotion.
Now, however, ‘The Punisher’ sees another org as the best destination.
“MVP x PFL is the future!” Mokaev recently wrote on X.
When a fan replied by suggesting the flyweight star was ending any hope of securing another UFC contract, Mokaev made it clear that his focus has altered.
“Don’t care, brother.”
It was announced in the summer that the PFL will merge with Jake Paul’s MVP MMA starting from 2027.
The collaboration comes after a successful first MVP MMA event on Netflix in May, which was headlined by Ronda Rousey’s return against Gina Carano and also featured wins for Francis Ngannou and Mike Perry.
