Strathmore Leos have named their squad for Saturday’s Impala Floodlit tournament quarter-final against Mwamba RFC at Impala Grounds, with several debutants earning places in the matchday squad.

The Leos have marked seven players in their starting XV as debutants, including front-row forwards Peter Njogu and Nigel Okoko, who will line up alongside Bramwel Anekea.

In the second row, Charles Wangwe is among the debutants, joining vice-captain Thomas Opio, while Derrick Osano also earns a place among the new faces in the forward pack. Captain Dennis Mbilah will lead the side from number eight, with Leo Opiayo completing the back row.

In the backs, Chaz Obiero and Fitscon Kamulamba are among the debutants named in the starting lineup. Darryl Wendo will feature at scrum-half, partnering Luke Cheptile at fly-half, while Shem Okola joins Kamulamba in midfield.

Brill Ank and Chaz Obiero are listed among the back-three options, with Salim Owino named at full-back.

The impact bench also features debutants Glen Aguko, Sam Omusi, Isaac Samuel and Adrian Omollo, giving head coach Rodney Ambale additional options as the Leos look to secure a place in the semi-finals.

Ambale will be supported by team manager Harold Tende, physiotherapist Nashon Owino.  With a semi-final berth on the line, the Leos will be aiming to make their selection count against Mwamba in what promises to be a competitive quarter-final encounter.
