Wayne Rooney criticises Manchester United players as Premier League crisis deepens

Back

Former Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has sharply criticised the club’s players as the team struggles in the Premier League.

Rooney said: “I would have given them such a kick up the backside that they would not have known what hit them.”

Manchester United are enduring a difficult spell and currently sit 16th in the Premier League table.

The club’s next league fixture comes on 31 October, when Manchester United travel to face Chelsea.
